So, I was going to draw Steven in my style, but I thought it would be funnier if I drew him in the show’s style, and just did the face in my style. Also, please please please commission me. Times are tough right now.
“Seriously, girl! I used to be a mirror. I can work with this.”
“There was a frog monster in that episode. That got cut.” Serious Steven had a very different opening once upon a time. Find out more here: http://bit.ly/2waI2QC
So most of you know about the Pyramid Gem from Serious Steven. Many suspect that this gem is actually White Diamond due to its size, shape and burial inside the pyramid temple, but there is a nagging kink in the theory that has not been fully addressedFir

pan-pizza:Consider that a warning, Steven. Don’t air the Uncle Grandpa X Steven Cross Over next week… for Pizza Steve’s sake… well now im conflicted really lolbut seriously SU x UGly cross over is an awful idea :/
Wow, Steven Universe really seems to like body horror. I’m not complaining, body horror is one of my all-time favorite sub genres. Kinda hoping there’ll be some more to come… Seriously though if “Cat Fingers” wasn’t partially inspired by “Akira”

crystal-gems: Some of my personal favorite frames from “Serious Steven”
umfzrottenbrains: Serious Steven on his magical pink lion with his shield out.
tixtoxtoe: The “Gem Battlefield” at the beginning of Serious Steven got me thinking about how maybe the Gems might’ve had to fight in some of these battles themselves… so I drew Amethyst and Pearl in some kind of fantasy-ancient-armor ??
seriousstevensblogofsilliness: Serious Steven #01 It Begins.
Steven Universe distance models appreciation post! I figured it was a good time to post some of these since the crew recently released the distance model sheets. Also because they’re so cute
airbenderedacted: Serious Steven: Storyboards vs. Episode screenshots For the cutest Pearl moment ever. I’m squealing so hard right now!
A collection of omitted dialogue from the Steven Universe storyboards. Specifically, these are single panel ones. Multi-panel collection can be found here. Contains board panels from: Tiger Millionaire - by Raven M. Molisee & Paul VillecoSerious
Amethyst does not fall, she rockets to the ground and punches it in the face. Seriously though: the ground better watch itself.
the-world-of-steven-universe: SU Ep.16 - “Steven the Sword Fighter” - Promo Wednesday, April 9 at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT) – Pearl tries to teach Steven the art of sword-fighting using a holographic version of himself.” This clip is only a minute
seriousstevensblogofsilliness: Serious Steven # 8 Garnet loves to enjoy looking at sunsets, even if she doesn’t show it.
graceybird: artemispanthar: I only just now realized that in the flashback sequence in “Serious Steven”, Amethyst is still sleeping after the ride breaks and the teacups crash into the boardwalk. There’s even a snoring sound playing and it’s
artemispanthar: Sometimes Pearl runs like this oh, also, look at this adorable panel from the “Serious Steven” storyboard:
kasukasukasumisty: Steven Universe - Rose’s Room (Sneak Peek) That’s so unusal of you, Steven I know the feeling, Steven. Wow, though, look at these dorks, they’re SO excited to tell Steven what they did. They’re probably so used to
All instances of Pearl (+ Opal) summoning and dispelling her spear (or having it be destroyed) thus far
rickmemes: i just realized that in Serious Steven the gems wouldve been stuck in that temple for awhile w/o steven like a LONG while yea but also they probably wouldn’t have been stuck the same way since they probably wouldn’t have touched
Some more examples of Pearl’s animated speaking and gesticulating. Not as strong as the first examples but they still demonstrate the habit. I anticipate seeing more of this as the show goes on.Part of a series on Pearl’s expressiveness, see
Seriously though, I want that poster. Like, not even signed I just want that poster
I really like this screencap from “Serious Steven”. I don’t even know why, I just do
louiswaggadocio: artemispanthar: I really like this screencap from “Serious Steven”. I don’t even know why, I just do would it be ruined if I told you it looked like her hair line was receding? haha, naw, it often looks like she has a receding

Garnet puts her hand on Pearl’s shoulder a lot. In “Serious Steven” and “Coach Steven” its a gesture of reassurance like “don’t worry, its ok” and Pearl usually responds to this despite it not being followed
Steven doesn’t over-complicate things
Gif compilation of Pearl blushing
Seriously though look, she could just go up on the loft but she doesn’t but she isn’t actually tall enough to reach the floor so she’s standing on that bookshelf, like in “Rose’s Room” I’m sure its mostly for
kasukasukasumisty: Wait waitwaitwait THE MURAL FROM SERIOUS STEVEN It’s drawn in Egyptian style The small black figures are meant to represent humans, who are, apparently according to Gems pathetic and way less important than Gems Rose Quartz is shown
princesssilverglow: You know, the “Robot-Shooty-Thing” from Lion 2: The Movie kinda shares some of the aesthetics of the giant pyramid from “Serious Steven”. It has this overall spikyness. Not implying anything here. I don’t think they’re
kasukasukasumisty: … Guys, guys. What if the mural from Serious Steven depicts that Rose sealed the triangle Gem IN the Pyramid as a punishment, just like Lapis has been sealed in the Mirror? I don’t know what other purpose would that serve, but
kasukasukasumisty: CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
SERIOUSLY PEEDEE I EMAIL YOU THE LINKS EVERY WEEK
I find it interesting that Pearl’s projections seem to essentially be a ‘window’ into her thoughts and that, once ‘on’, what’s displayed isn’t always entirely voluntary. In “Serious Steven” and “Rose’s Scabbard” when her thoughts

If you think about it, each of the Gem-powered objects we’ve seen correlates with one of the 7 deadly sins:Lapis’ Mirror = VanityDesert Glass’ Pillow = SlothSpinning Mechanism Gem in “Serious Steven” = when someone spins around in a circle
hmm, ok so that was both a fun and serious episode. And cliffhangery.Neither the chibi Steven, Amethyst, and Garnet or the Amethyst eating a sandwich were from this episode. HmSo this is that episode with the laugh track mentioned during the AMA. That
hm, Zap2It says “Catch and Release” is paired with “Serious Steven”, but TVguide.com pairs it with “Sadie’s Song”, and CN.com pairs it with the We Bare Bear’s episode “Charlie”. Possibly the first time I’ve seen three entirely
So, like, I really never thought to actually look at Pearl’s teapot in “Serious Steven” but there was a gifset on my dash earlier today and I realized that there’s a rose design on the teapot. Like, an abstract-ish design but to me they definitely
squaremomgsquad: artemispanthar: And tbh I can’t understand how someone could watch “Serious Steven” and conclude “this episode is unimportant and does not contain anything significant for future episodes” when it contains a giant mural that
