I find that, when I’m drawing, I’m not so much thinking “I hope this turns out looking good” as much as I’m thinking “I hope its not obvious I have no idea what the hell I’m doing”

I always have really neat drawing ideas when I’m in no way able to actually go and draw :\ then when I finally can I’ve either forgotten the idea or have thought about it too much and am too self-conscious to actually draw it. Bah.
