gracekraft: Still working on his design, but this is Tryss’ grandfather. He looks big and gruff but he loves his granddaughter dearly and is very protective of her. The most recent design/concept notes I had for him were “massive bear owl samurai”

gracekraft: I was drawing my Ornithians with expressions from Steven Universe and Grave dared me to draw Tryss with Steven’s pun face and well here we are.
gracekraft: I always tend to pair my main four off Kia/Mihail and Artie/Tryss, so for a change I drew Kia with Artie and Tryss with Mihail. Chances are these events are happening simultaneously, Tryss and Mihail are probably exchanging nerdy bird words
gracekraft: I would be lying if I said Kia and Aria’s relationship doesn’t take inspiration from my own relationship with my mom, so here’s a little more personal sketch dedicated to her. Tomorrow will start a week celebrating the completion of

gracekraft: So before I show you guys what First Flight is, I’m going to show you what it was not. This is an animatic back from first semester, near the end of November. It is very sketchy and old ahaha. Warning: it is silent for the first half
gracekraft: In a stroke of serendipity, they pretty much are in correct height comparison to each other. Just swap the middle two and it’s a perfect descending height scale as it should be!
gracekraft: First Flight is my Senior Film, from concept to the final product, I have been working on it for a total of 7 months. Each frame of animation is a brush pen drawing on paper and the backgrounds were done in watercolor graphite. Everything
gracekraft: gracekraft: If you haven’t seen the pilot for Steven Universe yet, you are missing out. I am REALLY excited for this show. I love all the characters so far, they have great designs and personalities. Amethyst is my favorite thus far.
gracekraft: Even without coloring, I’m really satisfied with these new references for my main Ornithian babies~ Thus I felt I should post the lines alone as well. All of their designs have come a long way and I feel now I’ve refined them to the
