And that's how this goes
Where's an assistant when I need one?!
So glad today is Friday
Yikes tomorrow is Monday
maxgryson: We have to do this AGAIN? (just kidding. I can’t resist.) What do you mean? (Can’t resist what?)
I think the printer must be using new inks!
maxgryson: I could be wrong, but it might be getting distracted by that thing you’re doing with your hair. Just saying. Let’s run a little diagnostic. This’ll take a minute or two. Yikes! You have 7,635 deleted files and 956 registry errors. I’ll
maxgryson: Let’s get you one! Here’s an Apple MacBook Air, and I think that should be at least as good as the one you’re using. We’ve been using both Windows PCs and Apple, but I think we ought to go exclusively to Apple since it’s so much
maxgryson: Well, good then. Have you been a writer here for long? Anything else you want to do, either here or elsewhere? I should tell you, I like people with ambition. People with ambition help us to be better, because everything they do comes from
maxgryson: You should absolutely write a book, and if I can help you find an agent, I will. I want everyone who works for me to be engaged in the professional development of each and every person who works for him or her. You may talk with me every few
maxgryson: Whatever you decide to do, make sure you do it, and don’t just dream about it. It takes courage, determination and focus to write a book. It’s scary and it feels as if you’re opening yourself up so that the world can see every last detail
An editor with Poise
maxgryson: annabellebanks: Five car pile up. Explains why traffic is going so slow. Guess I’m gonna be late. As long as you’re not in the pileup, everything’s fine! Thankfully, I’m not. But everyone is driving super slow just so they
maxgryson: annabellebanks: Thankfully, I’m not. But everyone is driving super slow just so they can look at the accident. I hate it when that happens. Just take it easy; the work will still be waiting for you when you get here. Ever since I met
maxgryson: Everybody hates being late to work. You get up when you’d rather be sleeping, then you probably eat breakfast before you’re really hungry, then you get in your car to drive before (you hope) everybody else does, and then some idiot decides
maxgryson: I suggest decaf. Nice of you to say, but sometimes a change in one’s look is a good thing. So Jennifer has given me some ideas, which I am enjoying. But I love my caffeine in the morning. Haha. So what is your new style?
maxgryson: You don’t want to be too edgy among people carrying scissors, I’ve always said. I have no idea what my new style is. I think Jennifer might call it “At Least Somewhat More Current Than That Old Dreck Max Had Been Wearing.” She also
maxgryson: I do like it. Don’t know if I feel any smarter, but it feels fun to wear. Still working up to the red chinos, though. Red chinos huh? I was not expecting that.

Does casual Friday mean I can wear my pajamas to work?
maxgryson: I’ve got it in my office. You can come by for it anytime. And don’t worry about returning it quickly – it’s about 500 pages, but you’ll be surprised. It goes so quickly you’ll find yourself reading slowly
maxgryson: I have a meeting on 7 and then I was going to see Jennifer about something, but I should be here right after that! That works for me. Thank you again Max!
FOR CHRIST'S SAKE! YOU ARE BOTH CUTE!
maxgryson: annabellebanks: @AnnaBanks: spending the day at the beach with Jordan! OH, MY GOD!! IS THAT ALL THAT’S LEFT OF HIM?! Sorry, I couldn’t resist! I hope you two are having a great time! Hahaha. No need to worry, Jordan is safe. And
maxgryson: annabellebanks liked your photo:This lion was going to eat me until, through the… Thanks. Turns out Gloria is tougher. Probably should have known. I have yet to meet Gloria. But it sounds like I may not want to….
maxgryson: annabellebanks: I have yet to meet Gloria. But it sounds like I may not want to…. She’s a good editor, especially for someone who’s only been doing the work for five years. But there’s something very touchy about her that can make
editor-in-chef:“ All men? – – I take great offence to that statement. ” Max chuckled lightly, shaking his head as he followed behind her. “ But perhaps my male background could help you pick out just the right one, so I think I’ll tag along
