My compost bin is doing SO WELL that my old potatoes/peelings are growing!!
I spent a good 2 hours in the backyard. I discovered where the earwigs are coming from and I dug up ALL the weeds around my gutter and I’m about to go spread some garlic salt out there, see if that helps against the damn bugs.I’m extremely excited
My mini roses are loving the compost! This was closed tightly yesterday and today it’s looking good so far!🌹
Deep is this Heart in Texas
A couple days ago, I made a post about how I’m going to plant impatiens in spring and how I planted them in cinderblocks at my MIL’s house in Kentucky. Well, she sent me a recent picture of my impatiens and now I have lovely before/after shots!
I found the coolest looking fern at Kings Soopers today. It’s softer than feathers! I can’t remember what kind the florist said it is but I love it already :)
My asparagus fern in the pot I hand painted 😊🌿
I cut back my chrysanthemums because they’re not flowering and their leaves were getting yellow spots on them. They look much better now. I’m thinking about replanting my fittonia plant because mushrooms are growing in the same pot. Feel
I discovered the real reasons why my garden mums weren’t doing so hot. The leaves had aphids and the roots were root bound to the pot, and there were mushrooms growing in it.I cut the roots back, cut back the leaves, rinsed the remaining leaves, and
The potatoes I accidentally started growing in my compost box are doing excellent! This is the biggest one I put in a plastic planter. I’ve never grown potatoes before so I guess I’ll see how it goes
I bought 100 worms today for my compost box. Some of them I can tell are dead, but the good part is they’ll become part of the compost anyways so it’s not really a waste. The majority of them are alive and wriggling very fast so I’m pleased with
Look at this odd flower I found at the grocery store, its stems are square 🌿
I’d like to think Mark Watney would be proud of my potato plant. It’s now taller than the polka dot plant on the right. Got rid of the aphids too, and I think it’s glad 😊 🍠
I can’t believe my hypoestes is flowering!!!
I put my rose on the windowsill next to my giant potato plant. The little orange crossandra is doing okay.
My garlic is really doing well 😊 it’s really easy to grow on your windowsill
Can anyone please help me figure out why my African violets aren’t flowering? I water them from below and I’m moving them around to see where they get the best indirect sunlight(they’re getting a bit leggy) But they’re still not

I love succulents but they don’t love me 💔
My hibiscus was doing terrible. There were aphids under the leaves, some sort of silvery mildew, and mushrooms growing in the same pot. I repotted it with fresh soil mixed with crushed eggshells and it’s absolutely flourishing! The leaf on the left
A better picture of the contrast between the old and new hibiscus leaves on my plant. It’s really coming back strong, it’s almost climbing! The crushed eggshells and new soil are working wonders for my beautiful plant. I’m glad it didn’t die,
Can’t beat half off amaryllis bulbs! I’ve never forced bulbs in vases before so we’ll see how it goes. I found two copper vases for a dollar each at Goodwill and I’m thinking of getting some fake flowers to put in there. I’m desperate for anything
Getting my “nerd room” set up in the spare bedroom. I bought a sturdy wicker basket for my magazines, I hung up my maps of Essos and Westeros and Slaver’s Bay, North of the Wall, and my Indiana Jones hat. My plants are happy in the new warmer room
My amaryllis bulb is already starting to turn green :)
My best looking African violets. They look perfect. I’m going to cut back the others since the leggy leaves aren’t doing so hot and the center has new bright green leaves.
I got my cyclamen set up in a large pot and put it on my table of books in my book room :)
Awhile ago I made a post asking for help because my African violets weren’t doing so hot. Some nice people responded kindly and I did the best I could for my plants. When my heat went out and the house got freezing cold, I moved my violets into the
I have a really weird problem with my new African violets
piprobinthegarden: Lots of Amaryllis color in the dark days of winter. I hope my bulbs turn out this nice ^.^
ileftmyheartinwesteros:My best looking African violets. They look perfect. I’m going to cut back the others since the leggy leaves aren’t doing so hot and the center has new bright green leaves. These are the new ones that’s rejecting all water.
These violets were struggling but they love my bathroom window! It’s a western facing window but the glass is frosted so the plant doesn’t burn. I can’t wait to see this in full bloom 🌸
This is the plant I needed help with, it hasn’t bloomed since October!!!!!!
Unfurled all the way and she’s doing so well <3 Very pale purple this year instead of a darker purple last year. I may be posting redundant pictures of the same plants because I can’t garden outside with it being winter and all. I’m so excited
My garden mums are getting VERY full! The leaves used to be a third of that size. But no bronze flowers have come back yet.
I cut my polka dot plant back since it was getting ridiculously tall and flowering. Now it looks like a baby again 😊
I did some gardening today, and since it’s finally above 60* outside, I’m thinking about moving my hibiscus outside to acclimate it. My rosebush is absolutely snagged full of dead leaves and raking all of those out was fun. I dug up the soil around
I just started a whole entire seed tray full of carnations. I’m hoping if they grow well, maybe I can sell them in the spring in a yard sale. I also rescued this rosemary plant from the produce section at WalMart. Tomorrow I’m going to plant
My new miniature rose Genevieve.
I just love morning glories
I did a lot of gardening today for my day off.I found some gigantic red tulips at Home Depot on clearance for ONE DOLLAR!!!! I bought some smaller matching yellow tulips and planted them all out front. I also found 9 tulip bulbs on sale at Walmart for
I’ve never tried to grow tomatoes like this but it’s worth a try
I think being indoors agrees with my cherry tree.
geopsych: Root-sheltered ferns.
I can’t get over how lovely this color is <3
I brought this snake tongue plant from Kentucky back to Colorado. My MIL gave it to me :) When it gets fuller I’m going to separate it into a matching pot on the other side of my entertainment center.
Some beautiful pansies I found at Home Depot. I’m praying they pull through the shock. I can’t resist pretty flowers :) I found more pansies but I need to find a wooden crate to paint before planting them in that.
More watercolor like orchids from the grocery store🌸
An incredible petunia I bought recently (X)
I should’ve bought some of these black calla lilies from Lowe’s. (X)
I think I spent maybe Ŭ on all these petunias from Walmart. It’s worth checking out the Walmart garden center because I got some orange lilies there for ū that were easily Ű at Home Depot/Lowe’s.
I went back to Lowe’s for a black lily but they ran out and orange looks good next to those purple petunias anyways ☺💜
My rose bush out front has exploded in blooms the last few days.
We finally got back to Colorado to come home and find a thriving garden :) The rain has revived everything, and I’m most impressed with my gladiolus blooming!!! It’s the only bulb that’s bloomed!!Find more of my garden here
New bloom on my giant cosmos plant. It’s a bit frilly but I love it
Guys my mom sent me Alaskan Fireweed seeds for my birthday :’) She knows how much I miss Alaska so next year, I can have a little bit of Alaska in my garden. This is probably one of the most thoughtful birthday gifts she’s ever given me.
I love this and need to do this for my plants
kudzukudza: Spiny pineapple (Puya berteroniana) Turquoise blooms!
I rescued a hydrangea from the grocery store and it looks like a watercolor. I’ve never kept hydrangeas before so we’ll see how it goes.
