The Golden Palominos - Clean Plate . This band is pretty interesting (and generally one that i like quite a bit) their sound morphs quite a lot over their career since it’s almost more of a revolving door artist’s collective than a set band
The Golden Palominos - Holy . This is seriously like the only song i could find on the net from their last album (Dead Inside) :| It’s really good, but it’s not the first thing i’d chose as a representative example if i had a choice.
So, NIN’s Ghosts is actually pretty decent. Back when it came out and the first quarter of it was released for free i checked it out …and was not terribly impressed. But i like it more now that i’ve listened to the entire thing. Fucking
Nine Inch Nails - Closer to God . Not to be confused with “Closer”. …this song was on the Closer single, and is different enough of a song that in my opinion it’s more like NIN covering NIN than just a remix. The words are changed
Front 242 - Modern Angel . I always kinda thought this is what KMFDM would sound like if they were 20% more awesome.
The Howling Void - Shadows Over the Cosmos . This is just as epic and amazing as it was the first time i blogged it a few months ago. It’s like… just perfect. This is the sound that circulates through my body and mind
Cevin Key - Frozen Sky . …With Ogre as guest vocalist… so like, it’s basically a Skinny Puppy song. And it is an awesome song.
Skinny Puppy - Haze . I think i still prefer earlier Skinny Puppy (80s and early 90s) overall, but the stuff from this century isn’t bad, and some of the songs are really excellent. Like this one.
David Bowie - Warszawa . I know this is a famous Bowie song, but i’d never heard it until now. Wow… Really beautiful! It doesn’t even sound dated really, despite being like 35 years old. Just plain amazing song… There’s
Afrika Bambaataa (with Gary Numan) - Metal . Metal is one of my favourite songs ever, and this is a pretty neat cover. I still think i like NIN’s cover better, but… i’d never heard this one until now so share time!
These Arms Are Snakes - Drinking from the Necks of the Ones You Love . I love this band. They broke up a few years ago, unfortunately… but they did some amazing stuff. TAAS was one of the only bands i recall that i liked from the start - meaning
Live - Pillar of Davidson . This song is brilliant, and never gets tiring. Throwing Copper is a great album (a classic for sure) and though i like all of it, this song is definitely the part i look forward to most when i play the album.
Garbage - Only Happy When It Rains . Sometimes you get reminded how awesome certain 90s classics are (at least if you’re like me and grew up in the 90s)
Fever Ray - Seven . Just in case you’re not familiar with this ..like the most beautiful song/video ever. I hope it’s played at my funeral, mmmmnn.
Talking Heads - Crosseyed and Painless . Have i posted this one before? Probably. …But yeah, it is such an amazing song. That bassline is a powerful drug … “This is what math sounds like to me. But I love it!” -youtube commenter
Smashing Pumpkins - X.Y.U. . This song is so awesome. …i’ve been addicted to Mellon Collie recently, which is cool i guess - when i was younger i was split about whether or not i liked the album, because some of the songs didn’t hook
Septic Flesh - The Vampire from Nazareth (Orchestral Version) . Jesus christ :o I don’t know if i like this one more or less than the version with the metal stuff included in it, but damn this song is awesome.
Camel of Doom - The Anger of Anguish . I’ve posted this before, but goddamn… it’s seriously like one of the best and most epic doom songs i’ve ever heard. Camels are just that awesome
Love and Rockets - Earth Sun Moon . I like this song quite a bit. Love and Rockets is[was] a really great band too, in case you have never heard of them.
Underworld - Mmm Skyscraper I Love You . Still one of the best. That moment at 6:43 and the following minutes… I bet that’s what it feels like to have epic delusions of grandeur
David Lynch - The Big Dream (Venetian Snares Remix) . I really like this remix. The original is awesome too, of course, but this version has a really killer dark edge to it.
Bull of Heaven - Like the First Pine Cone . This is really lovely! It takes a little while to get going, but at least this song can be imbibed all in one sitting. ;)
Strapping Young Lad - Underneath the Waves . I was into Strapping Young Lad long before i was ever into Devin Townsend’s solo stuff. This album (City) was the first SYL album i’d ever heard, and also one of the first metal albums i ever liked.
Haujobb - Last Hero . I listened to some Haujobb during my stream. One of those bands i have liked historically, but don’t listen to a lot… but yeah, they do have some great stuff. This song is beautiful ;_;
