This weekend I was at a larping con, and I learned lots of wonderful things! My friend Anna taught me how to make “fake metal” out of aluminium tape, carton and some paint, and I quite liked the result!
Today, I tried my hand at soldering. I need to make a very small medallion with UV light for my next larp, and here is the partway result. The bulb to the left is a regular LED and the one to the right is an UV. Pretty neat looking, if you ask me!
Today, I finally managed to put my car battery, amp and subwoofer together for the larp. I couldn’t find any inline fuses or power switches, so I simply took an old jewellery box to use for the purpose. Not exactly water proof, but it will do. I
I am tired, my feet hurt and my headache is out of this world, but this larp was truly awesome. Wearing armor is so much fun. It is a shame the ringmail isn’t visible, however.
I realize that I look incredibly short in this picture, and would just like to point out that I am 5'10. That guy is just huge. And standing uphill. Just saying. :D

I finally got around to building a stand for my armor. It is slowly coming together - I need to put a hammer to the cuirass, however. Damn thing looks the same back and front.

Has anyone ever wondered how to make a late Roman larping shield? I thought not. Here is how, anyway. The protective layer around the edge is the larping part - I wouldn’t want to accidentally knock my own teeth out, after all.

We needed an old looking box for the larp and simply couldn’t find one, so I spent some time assembling one. It is not the prettiest, but it will do the trick!
