gracekraft: Gonna start a little something I thought of the other day, Pearlmethursday. I’ll try to have a little Pearl x Amethyst posted on Thursdays, or rather have them scheduled to post then. and if you want to join in I’m not gonna stop
gracekraft: Bet they try to out compete each other to see who can clean Garnet’s gemstones better and have her judge. I had the idea that the Gems need to keep their gemstones in tip top shape to stay healthy and functioning. Then I was thinking
gracekraft: A happy ending
gracekraft: I intend to color this but I also really liked how just the linework turned out, so here it is alone. I don’t draw Opal nearly as much as I should. This is intended to be the pose Amethyst and Pearl struck when successfully merging to
gracekraft: Don’t be a grumpy gus, P
gracekraft: Believe in Steven
gracekraft: Oh I know it will be great And I just can’t wait To see the person you are together First design I’ve submitted for the Steven Universe Design Contest over at Mighty Fine. Colored version of my earlier lineart.
gracekraft: A little morning walk on the beach, except Pearl prefers to tiptoe on the water surface rather than walk on the actual beach. Had some fun with a digital coloring experiment for this. Bottom version is the original.
gracekraft: Must be hard waiting on a friend sometimes.
gracekraft: Been a long week
gracekraft: Second design for the Steven Universe Design Contest at Mighty Fine. You can see the design on the site here. Based on the final panel from my “Believe in Steven” comic. One thing about Steven Universe I adore is the love all
gracekraft: I forgot I had some more sketches of Gem children lying around. Also got Mama Rose in this time~
gracekraft: A little on the whim tiny Pearl sculpt. I’ve always really liked the adorable pose in this particular sketch by joethejohnston, and wanted to try my hand at turning it 3D. Think I might do some more “sketch sculpts” to keep up
gracekraft: Pearl Appreciation Week has me in the spirit for drawing Pearl I guess haha. Really excited for Steven the Swordfighter on Wednesday. Pearl in fencing attire only seems fitting, I bet she is a master with all three types of blades.
gracekraft: For an quick exercise in Character Design class today we had to design a cat character. Even if it was just for something quick and silly I really liked how mine turned out. I think I shall call her Mopsy the hoodie cat.
gracekraft: Steven couldn’t have been the only one who missed her in those 2 weeks.
gracekraft: I missed using my watercolor inks. Also really loving this new gray ink pen.
gracekraft: “It feeds on gemstone crystals. In darkness, its eyes sparkle with the glitter of jewels.” I hope this joke is as funny as I thought it was while drawing it.
gracekraft: I felt it would be a missed opportunity not to make this parody.
gracekraft: We are the Fairy Gems~ A while ago I had fun coming up with a Crystal Gems themed Pokemon team, because I like to do fun nerdy stuff like that. I also decided to make it all Fairy typed because I thought it was a fitting magical type to
gracekraft: Almost time for these two to part ways, hopefully not for long~ I hope the mail system will be gentle with Pearl.
gracekraft: Hold on tight Garnet! Or your fellow Gems will fall right off the page. Wouldn’t want that. Third design for the Steven Universe Design Contest over at MightFine. Pretty simple, but I thought it would be a cute idea to have the Gems
gracekraft: The joke is that Pearl is a massive dork
gracekraft: “See? I’m fine. It doesn’t hurt anymore.”
gracekraft: Precious Pearl~
gracekraft: 4th design for Mighty Fine’s SU design contest. Second design with Rose and the first that I’ve colored traditionally. Really happy with how it turned out~ Previous Designs: Amalgam Love Goes On Don’t Fall
gracekraft: Taking a little break from sound editing to do some sketching for my sanity. Stressed and exhausted Pearl to mirror my current state with Amethyst providing some comforting company. Drawing them like this always soothes me a bit.
gracekraft: Final submission to the Steven Universe contest on Mighty Fine, and another watercolor at that, which I’m quite happy with. Five of five~ Previous Designs: Amalgam Love Goes On Don’t Fall Rose’s Petals
gracekraft: Sometimes no matter how you wanna feel, you just can’t help feeling what you are trying not to feel. Vent art because I’m going through a rough patch. I still think about Amethyst’s words in Tiger Millionaire and the deeper feelings
gracekraft: What we had, could you call it love?Isn’t it good to kill things that you hate?Things that cling to you like scratching algaeOr me if that’s what you hate so much? My own translation from a segment of Mosaic Roll, which I was listening
gracekraft: My five designs for the Steven Universe shirt design contest over at Mighty Fine. I would really appreciate it if everyone could take a minute or two to click the link to each entry and rate them. In order: Rose’s Petals —->Rate
gracekraft: Just a quick little gif I made for fun in between my other projects.
gracekraft: Was feeling pretty down Monday morning, so I drew some Marills because I remembered how much I love them. Each one was done with two watercolor brush pens each.
gracekraft: “Important character development question: would they lick someone’s hand if they tried to cover their mouth?” From this post. Saw it and the idea just started drawing itself before I could blink.
gracekraft: Another (hopefully less carrot looking this time) Opal figure WIP shot
gracekraft: A scenario materialized as I sketched the poses
gracekraft: Wanted to take some time to step back from everything and appreciate spring while it is still here.
gracekraft: Been wanting to draw Rose Quartz because man from the little information we have about her she already seems like she was a pretty kick ass lady. Done in time for Mother’s Day and in anticipation for Rose’s Room on Wednesday.
gracekraft: One of my favorite little things about the Opal figure is that she’s to scale with my previous figure of the Crystal Gems~
gracekraft: Getting closer~
gracekraft: Sculpting for Opal done~
gracekraft: Opal for the Steven Universe Collab on Twitter~
gracekraft: Realized the first time I posted this I didn’t use the transparent version, so here’s a version you can drag around to have the Gems hanging from your dash. If you want this design on a shirt, vote for it here in the Steven Universe design
gracekraft: mwah
gracekraft: Only thing cuter than Pearl is pouty child Pearl.
gracekraft: Some silly little Opal and Garnet ink and marker doodles on clearprint vellum.
gracekraft: The idea of Pearl and Amethyst forming Opal the protect Garnet wouldn’t leave my head, so a roughed out a little comic.
gracekraft: Just some brush pen sketches of the Gems being cute together, farthest to the left inspired by my comic from earlier today.
gracekraft: All Gems present and accounted for
gracekraft: Sometimes all you need to do is talk it out
gracekraft: I have too much fun drawing these two
gracekraft: I know I’m not the first to draw some SUtena crossover art, but I wanted to doodle this after marathoning Utena to get through the final days of my senior film.
gracekraft: They both want to see her again
gracekraft: Was feeling awful the other night so to comfort myself I sketched some Amethyst calming Pearl down.
gracekraft: Had an amazing time yesterday touring around the CN studio, I couldn’t have dreamed of a better day. Thank you stevencrewniverse (especially Joe) for a lovely time, it was great meeting all of you! Enjoy the figures and keep up the
gracekraft: protecting something precious
gracekraft: A brush pen sketch I ended up coloring
gracekraft: Moumentai~ Been rewatching Digimon Tamers sub since it is on Netflix and I love Terriermon and his little catchphrase. Dedicated to my good friend eled0ra since she loves him too~
gracekraft: A spontaneous Steven Universe sketch page in these trying times of the hiatus.
gracekraft: Two additional figures part of the gift set, the group figure was gifted to rebeccasugar and Opal to joethejohnston. Opal was perhaps the most challenging to paint because her pallet has so many colors that are difficult to get right with
